Development of social insects by a puzzle

Exercise:
The development of insects is often learned by lessons about the honeybee. This sequence shows a comparison of a bumble-bee and a honeybee. The necessary informations are learned by an internet-puzzle. Basic knowledge isnt necessary.

The pupils must attach pictures, which shows development-phases of a honeybee and a bumble-bee, to the right text, which contains further informations. After this the devolopment could be summed up by letter. Differences could be shown in a list.
The pupils need only the URL: http://aktion-hummelschutz.de/e/kids/puzzle.html . I recommend you to test the page on a school-computer. "Java" must be possible.

Tools
As on all pages for pupils of this homepage, I present you the following tools, which you can use, if you want to:
Chat: Indeed the exercises are arrenged in a way, that pupils could solve all problems on thereselfs to learn independent. But nevertheless there are often questions. Further tests shows, that pupils look for a confirmation, altough they have even found the right answer. For this point, it makes much fun to use the chat-system. The teacher could communicate from his place/computer with all pupils and can answer questions. The Chat will be automatically loaded in a small part of the window below.
Homework/more exercises: There are additional exercises for each topic for fast pupils or for the homework.

Ideas for independent works and lectures:
The larva cells from bumble-bees are closed. How could the workers feed the larvas? --> Search for "pocket-storers" and "pocket-makers".

Some loosenings:
To exercise 1:

bumble-bee K F J A E G
  1 2 3 4 5 6
honeybee H B L C I D

To exercise 3:
Honeybees use vertical combs (bumble-bees cells are on the ground/horizontal). Eggs were layed individual (with many others), combs are open (cells are closed). The honybee queen hibernate with a part of her state in the nest (the bumble-bee queen searches every spring for a new nesting place and found the new state each year in the spring). The queen swarms with a part of the state each summer (the virgin queens leaves the nest alone, the old queen dies).

To excercise 4 and 5:
The bumble-bee queen has leaved the place, where she has hibernate and is now searching for a new nesting place, honeybee queens and there swarm have found in the last summer a nesting place. So, the honeybee queen stays in spring in her nest.

To exercise 6 and 7:
"Swarming" means, that the old honeybee queen leaves the nest with some workers, a short time, before the new queens slips. In addition to that, workers built a "cluster" with the queen in the center of it. The animals wait on an exposed place. Individual workers are searching in the meanwhile for a new possible nesting place.
Because of the dead of the old queen (and all workers and drones), the queen can´t leave the nest swarm. The new virgin queen search independent from each other in spring for a new nesting place.
